Our History & Future
Leroy and Richelle Ortiz began their first company as local residential electrical contractors in 2004. Over the years, they had the opportunity to join the leadership team of several established companies, and through those years they developed a large spectrum of varied experience. As they grew, and as the residential market declined, they realized they needed to pivot into commercial electrical work.
In January of 2014, Leroy and Richelle decided to expand, and began the process of developing the company that they have today. Since that time, they have worked diligently to assemble and develop the tight knit team they have today. As the company has grown, Leroy and Richelle have been joined by several senior leaders who are now an intricate part of the daily operations of CLP. Their goal as a leadership team, is a focus on building each individual member on their team, while providing a safe, secure, and fun environment for their family-like team to work in.
The leadership team of CLP, works to ensure that every associate understands they play a key role in producing an exceptional experience for our long standing customers. The development of team culture is a priority, and CLP strives to create an environment unlike what is usually found in the construction industry. As a whole, the team works hard, but also takes time to have fun and play hard. This includes activities like company paintball tournaments, TopGolf Events, Axe Throwing Competitions, an annual paid cruise, and so much more. Because CLP feels continuing education is important, they host regular quarterly training weekends, as well as a growth track program to help
those who want to move forward in their career, with the right tools and understanding of how to do so.
Since inception, Creative Lighting and Power has grown steadily with Leroy & Richelle at the helm. With an emphasis on Commercial Remodels, Renovations, and Retrofits, they have become a sought-after commercial lighting contractor for large retailers, warehouses, and industrial lighting projects not just in their local market of Lakeland, FL but throughout all of Florida, Georgia, and Alabama. Further plans are already in place to expand further into more of the southeastern United States. The CLP Leaders and Team are excited for the continued growth and opportunities awarded to them as they light the way into the future.
